All submissions must adhere to the following journal policies:
1. Peer review policy
DawnMed Journal of Medical Science follows a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed to ensure objective and unbiased evaluation of all submitted manuscripts. All submitted articles undergo an initial editorial assessment to ensure they meet the journal’s scope, ethical standards, and formatting requirements. Manuscripts deemed suitable are then assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject matter expertise.
Reviewers evaluate submissions based on scientific and methodological soundness, originality and significance of the research, clarity of presentation and structure, validity of data, analysis, and interpretation, relevance to clinical practice or medical education, and ethical compliance and transparency of disclosures.
Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, respectful, and timely feedback; maintain confidentiality of the manuscript content; declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review when appropriate; and recommend a decision (accept, minor/major revision, reject) based on academic merit.
Final decisions are made by the editorial board, taking into account reviewers' comments and the overall quality and relevance of the manuscript. The editorial team reserves the right to request revisions or reject submissions at any stage.
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Any attempt to compromise the integrity of the review process—such as fake peer review or undeclared conflicts—will result in immediate rejection or retraction and may be reported to relevant institutions or ethics committees.
2. Ethical standards
We follow the ethical guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) . Authors are expected to ensure that their work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism or data manipulation. Studies involving human participants or animals must include appropriate ethical approval and informed consent statements.
3. Authorship criteria
All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. Ghost authorship, honorary authorship, or misrepresentation of contribution is considered a violation of ethical standards.
4. Plagiarism policy
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant unoriginal content will be rejected outright. Minor similarity must be properly revised prior to acceptance.
5. Data availability
Authors are encouraged to share datasets, protocols, and materials upon reasonable request to promote transparency and reproducibility. Where applicable, a Data Availability Statement must be included in the manuscript.
6. Conflict of Interest Policy
DawnMed Journal of Medical Science is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in scholarly publishing. All authors, peer reviewers, and editorial board members are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence, or appear to influence, the content, review, or publication of a manuscript.
What constitutes a conflict of interest?
Conflicts may be financial, institutional, personal, or professional in nature. Examples include, but are not limited to:
Employment, funding, or consultancy relationships
financial interests in relevant entities
Honoraria, speaker fees, or paid expert testimony
Academic or personal rivalry
Intellectual or ideological bias
Disclosure Requirements
Authors must include a clear Conflict of Interest statement in their manuscript. If no conflicts exist, please include the following:
“The authors declare no conflicts of interest related to this work.”
Reviewers and editors must also recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
Editorial Action
Undisclosed conflicts discovered after submission or publication may result in editorial investigation, correction, retraction, or other actions in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
7. Retraction and correction policy
The journal will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with COPE guidelines if ethical breaches, errors, or issues with the scientific integrity of the article are identified post-publication.
